Three Recent Favorites
Another month and another struggle to write a blog post. I’ve had a few rough patches mentally so today I thought I’d simply share a few things that make me smile. I tried to choose new, or at least, new-to-me things to write about and my hope is that you find something fun that you want to try from this list!
(In the style of The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green here is my list:)
1. Protein Matcha from Dunkin’
Even if you’re not a matcha fan, Dunkin’ has rolled out protein milk which is my new favorite thing. At least when ordered with matcha, I can’t taste the difference. There is no aftertaste or weird kick, it tastes the same as if I had ordered it with regular milk. It’s become a bit of a buzz word, but my reason for choosing a protein matcha is simply because it fills me up more without sacrificing taste.
I personally love the Toasted Almond flavor added to a protein matcha. 5/5
2. Plan D Vlogs
Plan D is a Korean Youtube vlogger who has English subtitles on her videos. It’s my latest obsession to binge her videos because of the calm they provide. Because she is Korean and lives there, it’s a slice of life to a culture I don’t live in which helps me escape into another world for a bit. Her vlogs are also very aesthetic, calm and peaceful. A respite in my busy day.
I like watching these types of vlogs because they motivate me to romanticize my own life. I am considering making a little cafe corner in my own home so I can revel in the simple things. 5/5
3. Halo Taco Nail Polish
As an avid lover of doing my own nails, I’ve always bought cheap nail polish that lasts a week. (Which works for me because by the next week I want another color anyway.) However, recently I bought a Halo Taco nail polish to try it out and unfortunately I love it. (Unfortunate because they are expensive. I understand because it’s a small business type thing but $15 per bottle is a lot.) I bought a few more during a Black Friday sale and I find myself reaching for them more often than my other ones.
The application is smooth, the polish spreads nicely on my nail and a few coats makes it look like a gel manicure. It lasts about a week and a half to two weeks (if there are sparkles in the formula it lasts longer.) And the color and vibrancy last the whole time (something that quickly fades with my other dollar store polishes.) So I am slowly (because of the cost) adding more to my collection little by little. 5/5
And there you have it, my mini list of three of my recent favorite things. I hope you found something fun from this list to try out for yourself or maybe it has motivated you to write your own list of favorite things. (I highly recommend doing it as a practice.)
Thanks for reading! See you next month!
